I'm so excited to lead a mobile tour as part of the Oregon APA Conference in October: “Under Pressure: The Evolution of the Central Eastside District.” The mobile tour will be on October 26th in the afternoon. Participants will go by bicycle to explore the challenges and solutions to fostering an employment district, where manufacturing of all types can thrive along with office uses and the arts. The exploration will happen by way of visiting three unique sites that provide incubator, manufacturing space and food production.
The Central Eastside Industrial District is an urban renewal district under evolution not revolution. It is an ecosystem, with maker supply-chains and collaborations happening across the street, rather than across town.
Tour participants will hear from a variety of perspectives from those in the new manufacturing movement, including those in the food and beverage, makers and design and arts space. Advanced registration is now open!
